Bergen aan Zee is a seaside resort town in the Dutch province of North Holland on the North Sea coast of the Netherlands. It is a part of the municipality of Bergen and is not very old, dating back to 1906 when the mayor of Bergen, together with some giant land owners, invested in a private seaside resort. Today Bergen aan Zee has an exclusive atmosphere is popular for surfing and sailing off its long stretch of beach where there is an abundance of facilities to ensure a fabulous day of relaxing on the beach, without the overcrowding.
