Muizenberg beach is a great family and beginner surfers beach. It is a sandy beach that stretches for km's. During the summer this beach can get massive crowds. The waters are warmer at muizenberg and due to the shallow waters is very popular for swimming.

This is a great beach if you are learning to surf, it does become very busy in the summer though. The warmer water on the Indian ocean side of cape town also makes surfing here very pleasant.
