Rather like Joseph's coat of many colours, Sint Maarten is an island of many names. Ranging from Saint Maarten on the French side to Sint Maarten on the Dutch side, she is also known by every variable thereof. Sint Maarten also offers the same variety in accommodation with prices to suit every holidaymaker's budget. Offering accommodation from plush Five Star hotels, lavish villa's to quaint B&B's, Sint Maarten also caters for time-share as well as all inclusive resorts. Luxurious estate homes can also be rented for those who might be a bit shy of publicity and are looking for peace and quiet away from the intrusive glare of the spotlight.

On the Dutch side of Sint Maarten visitors can enjoy the many restaurants and nightclubs or casinos that make up the glittering nightlife of the larger resorts. Many of the hotels that line the beachfront have their own swimming pools. This tiny little island, it only measures 37 sq miles, is owned by two nations, the French and the Netherlands Antilles, and yet the incredible changing landscapes of mountains to beaches, and the crazy mix of cultures and people give Sint Maarten a giant heart. This little place supports about 90 diverse nationalities and has grabbed her place as the economic pivot of the Northeastern Caribbean.

The Simpson Bay Lagoon is the biggest in the Caribbean and gives berth to yachts of every description and size. It is also where one can stand and gaze at the huge yachts that are the size of traveling hotels. (Which are probably owned by those reclusive souls in the private mansions). Sint Maartens is a marvelous destination and will provide a great holiday for everyone with sparkling beaches and just about everything else the heart could long for, with excellent dining, spectacular nightlife and of course shopping.
