Located on the planes of Falassarna on the western side of the island near the Platanos village this beach is one of those deemed to have the cleanest waters in Greece. This idyllic beach is great for a little quiet time with a good book or a snooze with a rented sun bed and umbrella. The view from the beach is incredible and the sunsets out of this world. It is however best avoided on very windy days. Accommodation is available and there are a few taverns around and about. As there is limited public transport it is better to hire a car or motorbike to get to this beach.

Falasarna Beach is a great beach and is a perfect summer sun destination. We recommend this beach for romance. Falasarna Beach has Blue Flag status.

One of the best beaches of Crete, near the village of Platanos, on the western coast of the island. It has golden sand and clean turquoise waters. Blue flag beach, which means that it has been declared as one of the beaches with the cleanest waters in Greece. Better avoiding it during windy days. Good for sunsets! Better reached by car or motorbike.
