Naxos, Greece beach guide & holiday information
Naxos is one of the Cycladic islands and is part of the prefecture of the Cyclades. Naxos is very close to Paros island (east) while to the south are the islands Irakleia, Schinousa and Keros. Naxos is a round island with a coast line of approximately 148 km long providing some of the best golden sand beaches in Greece. Hora is the main town and port and is always very lively. The mountains also have some of the most beautiful villages which are rich in agriculture and culture. The weather in Naxos is mild and very similar to that of central Greece. The winter can be cold, but the summer is hot with plenty of sunshine. The island is normally cooled by the northerly summer winds which make this an ideal island for windsurfing. Naxos is a great destination for a summer beach holiday.
